Kansas Plant Closure Leaves 30 Employees Without Work

UPU Industries Closes Junction City Plant, 30 Employees Affected

UPU Industries has shut down its Junction City operation earlier this month, a decision confirmed by HR Manager Suzanne Deegan. The company, known for manufacturing net wrap for round hay bales, announced the closure of the plant, which had been in operation since 2003.

According to the company’s social media page, UPU is the only manufacturer in the United States producing premium range bale netting and pallet wrapping, serving agricultural and industrial sectors with products such as Patriot Netwrap and Baler Twine.

The Junction City plant employed 30 workers, with Deegan noting that approximately 85% of them have already found new employment. The parent company of UPU Industries, headquartered in Northern Ireland, will continue its operations despite the closure of the local plant.
