Update: Cause Of Death Released In Woman’s Body Discovery In Abandoned Car Wash

Lauderdale County Coroner Stella McMahan has provided details about the discovery of a woman’s body in an abandoned car wash.

On October 7th, 2024, Theresa Belvin, 52, was found dead in the car wash of a Valero gas station on Highway 19 in Meridian, near Bonita Lakes. The body was identified on October 8th.

According to autopsy reports, Belvin’s death was a result of strangulation. Her death has now been declared a homicide.

The Meridian Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the case. They are actively gathering information regarding Belvin and the details surrounding her death.

As soon as new information becomes available, it will be released.
