CLEAR LAKE — Three former University of Iowa football players are on the 2021 College Football Hall of Fame ballot. Jared DeVries is making his first appearance on the ballot. DeVries played for Iowa from 1995-1998 where he was a 1998 consensus first-team All-American, the 1997 Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, and ranks first all-time in Big Ten history with 78 tackles for loss. The current Clear Lake High School head football coach was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1999 and spent his entire pro career in Detroit before retiring in 2010. Other former Hawkeyes on the ballot include Robert Gallery and Andre Tippett. Membership voting is taking place through July 7th, with the National Football Foundation Honor Courts then selecting the 2021 class, which will be inducted on December 7th 2021 in New York City.

DES MOINES — The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has released four new bobbleheads featuring Iowa native and Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse. Museum Director Phil Sklar says each bobblehead captures a memorable moment for the popular coach and Carroll, Iowa native, who led the Raptors to their first NBA championship in 2019.

There is a strong Iowa connection for Nurse, who attended Kuemper Catholic High School before going to the University of Northern Iowa where he played basketball and was an assistant coach for one year. Nurse also coached the D-League’s Iowa Energy from 2007 to 2011, leading them to the 2011 championship.

The bobbleheads of Nick Nurse are limited to 2,019 copies of each and will arrive later this summer and be shipped out by August.

You can order them through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at $30 each or all four for $100.
