Stolen Car Chase Culminates in Rooftop Arrest by Shawnee Police

Shawnee Police Arrest Two Suspects Found Hiding on Senior Living Facility Roof

On Monday, the Shawnee Police Department released details and photos of an unusual arrest that involved suspects found on a rooftop.

The incident began around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, December 6, when an officer attempted to stop a driver in a stolen car. Initially, the driver refused to comply, eventually abandoning the vehicle along with a passenger, and both fled on foot.

The suspects ran to a senior living facility located in the 12800 block of Johnson Drive. Police quickly surrounded the property and deployed K9 units and drones to locate them. The suspects were eventually discovered hiding on the building’s roof and were arrested after officers climbed to reach them.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the suspects or the charges they may face.
