Monday’s weather brings unusually high temperatures and strong winds

A powerful cold front is expected to move across Kansas today, according to meteorologist Jake Dunne.

Although the majority of the state will remain dry, there is a chance of light rain and/or snow showers in the afternoon and evening, primarily in the northern and eastern regions.

Following Sunday’s temperatures in the 60s, today will see highs in the 50s, with temperatures dropping to the lower 40s tomorrow.

Today, another concern regarding the storm system is the wind. Expect a northwest breeze with speeds ranging from 20-30 mph, occasionally gusting up to 40-45 mph.

This will be particularly noticeable in the western region of the state, where blowing dust is anticipated. As a result, red flag warnings have been issued to alert residents of the potential hazards.

Both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are expected to be calm, with colder temperatures. However, the temperatures will still be within the normal range for this time of year, with highs in the lower 40s and overnight temperatures in the lower 20s.

This weekend and beyond, we can expect significant weather changes on the horizon. Late Saturday and Sunday, there is a potential storm system approaching, bringing with it chances of rain and snow.

Following the storm, we can anticipate the arrival of Arctic air, bringing the coldest temperatures of the season. In fact, next week could potentially bring dangerously low wind chills.

The weather forecast for the Wichita area looks promising.

Today’s weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and windy conditions. The wind will be blowing from the south to northwest, with speeds ranging from 20 to 30 miles per hour, and gusts expected. The high temperature for the day is expected to reach 60 degrees.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy and blustery with northwesterly to northerly winds of 20-30 mph, gusting strongly. The low temperature will be around 34 degrees.

Tomorrow’s weather forecast calls for clear skies, windy conditions, and a drop in temperatures. The wind will be blowing from the north at speeds of 15 to 25 miles per hour, with occasional gusts.

Despite the sunny weather, it will feel colder with a high temperature of 43 degrees. So, make sure to bundle up before heading out!

Wednesday’s weather forecast shows a partly cloudy day with a low of 23 and a high of 44 degrees.

Thursday’s weather forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a low temperature of 27 and a high of 48.

Friday’s weather forecast shows a low of 24 and a high of 42 with mostly sunny conditions.

Saturday’s weather forecast calls for cloudy skies with a wintry mix in the afternoon. The low temperature is expected to be around 28 degrees, while the high is predicted to reach 31 degrees.

The weather forecast for Sunday is as follows: the low temperature will be 22 degrees while the high temperature will reach 27 degrees. It will be a cloudy and breezy day with a wintry mix that will eventually change to snow.
