Iowa Economic Development Authority approves assistance awards to companies in Osage, Hampton

DES MOINES — The Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Board of Directors on Friday approved assistance awards for companies in Osage and Hampton to expand their operations.

Valent BioSciences in Osage was awarded $31.8 million in project tax benefits through the High Quality Jobs program as the company plans to expand its existing facility in Osage as demand for their products continues to increase. The expansion is expected to create ten jobs at a qualifying wage of $23.71 per hour.

Centro Incorporated in Hampton was also awarded tax benefits through the High Quality Jobs program as the company plans to purchase a building and adjacent lot in Hampton, which will include two rotational molding machines. The project is expected to create 28 jobs, of which 16 are incented at a qualifying wage of $24.18 per hour.
