Lauren Casey’s final Good Morning Indiana appearance was on Wednesday, July 17.

Her message to viewers is as follows: Throughout the post, we will feature videos of some of Lauren’s favorite stories from previous years. The video above features Lauren’s final statements on Good Morning Indiana.

“As most of you are aware, today is my last day working in television news, specifically on Good Morning Indiana.

It’s a quest that began eleven summers ago.

I had just finished my junior year at Franklin College and was really excited to begin my internship at WRTV, the station I grew up watching.

The team here poured into me from the moment I came through these doors.

They’ve taught me everything I know.

Journalists with decades of experience took time out of their days to collaborate with me and help me advance.

Many of them are famous faces on television, yet you never see them at home.

None of this would be possible without my outstanding staff, especially those working behind the scenes.

So, I’d like to thank our outstanding producers, news photographers, video editors, digital developers, managers, promotions team, and station engineers—so many clever, creative, and dedicated people are responsible for what you see on the air every day.

They have also witnessed my personal growth here. I finished college, married my high school sweetheart, and became a mother to two adorable children.

The people at WRTV have treated me like family through all of life’s ups and downs.

Speaking of family, I would like to express my gratitude.

Without their love and support, I would be unable to wake up every day and do my job.

Thank you to our loved ones for stepping up and caring for our children while we are at work.

I’d especially like to thank my mother, who watches GMI every morning and stays late every day to help me with the kids. I couldn’t have done this job without you.

To my husband and closest friend Brooks, who has had to suffer 10 or more alarms every morning beginning at 2 a.m. for the past decade, thank you for caring for the infants alone all night while I am at the station and for always encouraging me to do what I love.

I hope I’ve made Archie and Isla proud, and one day you’ll both pursue your goals.

This is certainly a dream job.

It’s an honor to be a part of your morning ritual.

I’d like to thank our viewers for welcoming me into their homes, sharing their stories, and praying for me.

Indiana is my forever home. You are my neighbor.

We’ve shared some of the most difficult and rewarding experiences.

The Mooresville couple tells a story of hope and love throughout the holiday season.
I want you to remember that God created you for a noble purpose, no matter what you’ve done or how difficult life can be at times.

He values your life and loves you deeply.

Never forget that.

To my Good Morning Indiana crew: you make these difficult hours worthwhile.

It’s been a pleasure to work with all of you.

Todd (Klaassen) and I have been together since my first day here.

You make this work easy because it has been so enjoyable.

I know you’ve always got my back, and I think I’ll miss doing this with you the most.”
