Clarion woman dead after SUV versus motorcycle accident

CLARION — An SUV versus motorcycle accident has killed a Clarion woman.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at about 6:30 last night at the intersection of State Highway 3 and 10th Street Southeast in Clarion. A 2000 GMC Envoy driven by 40-year-old Michael Curtis of Clarion was westbound on State Highway 3 with a motorcycle going eastbound on the highway being operated by 56-year-old Michelle Gambrill. Curtis turned south onto 10th Street Southeast, colliding with Gambrill.

The State Patrol says the collision caused Gambrill to separate from the motorcycle and was dragged until Curtis came to rest on top of Gambrill on the west edge of 10th Street Southeast. Gambrill received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
