Reynolds, Grassley highlight GOP bus tour stop in Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — Governor Kim Reynolds and Senator Chuck Grassley highlighted a bus tour stop of top Republican candidates in Clear Lake at midday on Monday.

Reynolds blasted the Biden Administration for its policies since winning the White House two years ago.  “Under the Biden Administration, we’ve seen reckless spending, we see rising crime in states across this country with an open border that’s intentional. They are paying people to stay home, and they are putting parents on the sideline when it comes to their child’s education. Whatever it takes, whatever it costs, they are fundamentally trying to change who we are as a country.”

Reynolds says Iowa’s fiscal health is strong and more tax cuts will help the state grow.  “Number one state for opportunity, number one state for affordable housing, number one state for fiscal responsibility. Our national profile is rising. Iowa was just named one of the top ten best states to live in in this country.”

Grassley says the Biden Administration’s bad decisions on energy policy has resulted in higher gas prices.  “We were energy independent on January 20th a year ago. Today we’re energy dependent. We’re asking Saudi Arabia and Venezuela to send us more oil, and we shouldn’t have to do that when we’ve got it right here in this country under our own two feet, pulled out of the ground by labor in this country. So you understand how the economy is screwed up with high energy and all those things.”

Grassley says he wants another term to be Iowans best choice in the Senate. “I love Iowans, I love working for Iowans, and I want to go back and turn these bad policies around. If I go back to the United States Senate, I’ll be #1, Iowa’s going to be #1 on my agenda, and if my opponent is elected, he’s going to be #100. The point being, he’ll be a rubber stamp because he says this administration is in his words doing a fabulous job, or he wants to make Iowa more progressive like California, he’s actually said that.”

Also at the stop were Congresswoman Ashley Hinson, Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, and Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig.
