Number of active cases locally up by 25 over the weekend

DES MOINES — 67 more cases of COVID-19 have been reported in our listening area over the weekend with the number of active cases up by 25.

In the period between 11 o’clock Friday morning and 11 o’clock Sunday morning, 20 new cases were identified in Cerro Gordo County; 16 in Winnebago; 12 in Butler; five in Mitchell; four in Franklin and Wright; three in Hancock; and single cases in Floyd, Kossuth and Worth counties. That brings the total number of cases identified since the pandemic in the listening area to 2376.

There are 468 active cases in the listening area as of 11 o’clock Sunday morning, compared to 443 active cases as of 11 o’clock Friday morning. There’s 163 active cases in Cerro Gordo; 71 in Winnebago; 63 in Wright; 35 in Kossuth; 30 in Franklin; 29 in Floyd; 25 in Butler; 22 in Worth; 17 in Mitchell and 13 in Hancock.

42 more people in the area were listed as fully recovered over the weekend to bring the total to 1862, or 78%.
