Missouri Governor Mike Parson took proactive measures on Friday to prepare for the upcoming winter weather in the state by signing an executive order.

According to a news release, certain hours of service requirements for commercial vehicles transporting residential heating fuel will be waived. Additionally, the Missouri National Guard will be activated for state and local response efforts, if necessary.

Get ready for a winter storm that is set to hit Saturday night, according to the latest update from the First Alert Weather team. With the potential for heavy snowfall and icy conditions, it’s essential to be prepared and stay informed.

The First Alert Weather team is closely monitoring the approaching storm system, which is expected to bring significant snow accumulation and freezing temperatures. This weather event could have a major impact on travel and daily activities, so it’s crucial to take necessary precautions.

It’s recommended to stay tuned to local weather forecasts and follow any advisories or warnings issued by authorities. Stock up on essential supplies, such as food, water, and medication, in case of power outages or difficulties accessing stores during inclement weather.

As the storm approaches, make sure to secure any loose outdoor items and prepare your home for potential power outages. Have a plan in place for alternative heating sources and be cautious when using generators or other emergency equipment.

Remember to check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors and assist them if needed. In times of severe weather, it’s important to come together as a community and support one another.

Stay updated with the latest weather information and follow any instructions provided by local officials. By staying prepared and informed, you can navigate through the winter storm safely and minimize any potential risks.

Governor Parson expressed the need for preparedness in anticipation of the upcoming winter storm. He emphasized the importance of both Missourians and the state government taking proactive measures to ensure safety.

This Order aims to ensure that homes remain heated and that the state government, along with the National Guard, is ready to provide assistance.

Governor Parson urged everyone to stay alert and exercise extreme caution during this potentially hazardous winter weather event.

Executive Order 25-01 has suspended the hours of service regulations for motor carriers who transport residential heating fuels, such as propane, natural gas, and heating oil.

Additionally, the order grants the Adjutant General of the State of Missouri the power to activate and deploy sections of the organized militia as deemed necessary to assist the people of Missouri.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and an Ice Storm Warning for several counties in anticipation of the upcoming weekend’s storm system.

The Winter Storm Warning starts on Saturday at 6 p.m. and continues until Monday at 5 a.m. Similarly, the Ice Storm Warning begins on Saturday at 6 p.m. and lasts until Monday at 6 a.m.

The KY3 First Alert Weather team is closely monitoring the possibility of up to an inch of ice and several inches of snow in some areas. There is a potential for scattered power outages, and travel may be impacted due to the wintry conditions.
