Mason City man arrested after short vehicle pursuit

MASON CITY — A Mason City man is under arrest after a vehicle pursuit on Friday night.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle that didn’t have any license plates shortly after 10:50 PM near the intersection of 11^th and North Kentucky. A slow-speed pursuit took place for a couple of minutes, finally ending near the intersection of 10^th Northeast and Elm Drive.

30-year-old Tony Jones was arrested and charged on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in reference to a controlled substance violation, as well as driving while barred, eluding law enforcement, not having insurance, and littering.

No injuries or property damage was reported as part of this incident.
