Mason City attorney Lapointe running for Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors

MASON CITY — Mason City attorney Timothy Lapointe announced Monday night that he was declaring his candidacy for the First District seat on the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors.

The Democrat Lapointe says he pledges to work with Republicans, Democrats and independents for the betterment of the county and that he’s confident his brand of professional progressivism will endure to the benefit of the citizens of the county. Lapointe cites his service on numerous boards and commissions at the state and local level of the past 33 years.

If Lapointe wins the Democratic nomination, he’d likely face Republican incumbent Chris Watts, who last week announced he was running for a final term on the Supervisors.
