Lake Mills beats Danville in 1A boys state quarterfinals

DES MOINES — Lake Mills led 7-2 after the first quarter and never relinquished the lead as the Bulldogs beat Danville 39-22 in the quarterfinal round of the Class 1A boys state basketball tournament this morning, as you heard on AM-1300 KGLO and kgloam.com. While Danville did tie the game at halftime 11-11, it was all Lake Mills in the second half, outscoring Danville 14-5 in the third quarter and 14-6 in the fourth. Bennett Berger had 13 points while Seth Hermanson added 10 to lead Lake Mills, as they improve to 25-1 on the season and will face either top-seed Grand View Christian or eighth-seed Bellevue in the 1A semifinals at 5:30 on Wednesday evening, a game you’ll hear as well on KGLO.
