The Quad Cities region is currently experiencing heavy rainfall, affecting both Illinois and Iowa. According to radar reports, some areas have already received between 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. This excessive amount of rain could potentially lead to minor flooding and the accumulation of water on roads. As a precaution, residents are advised to be careful while commuting this morning.

The US National Weather Service Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois has issued a special weather statement that will be in effect until 7:30 AM CDT Thursday. The statement covers several areas including Fort Madison, Keokuk, Carthage, Nauvoo, Summitville, and other nearby communities.

According to the weather service, wind speeds may reach up to 40 mph, but there is no expected hail. It’s important for drivers to keep an eye out for water on the road, as it can be dangerous. The weather service recommends finding a sturdy shelter to stay safe during these conditions.

It is important to stay up-to-date with the latest information during severe weather events. Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed. To ensure your safety, it is crucial to follow any safety advisories and stay informed by checking weather updates. The heavy rainfall and risk of flooding highlight the importance of being prepared for emergencies and taking necessary precautions to keep yourself and others safe.
