Martinez Hernandez was apprehended in June at a bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a full 10 months after the discovery of Morin’s lifeless body on the Ma & Pa Trail in Harford County.

After being apprehended, he was eventually transported to Maryland, where he now confronts a multitude of charges including first and second-degree murder, rape, sex offense, and kidnapping.

Investigators received a tip indicating that Martinez Hernandez had made his way to the Tulsa area following his escape from Maryland.

Martinez Hernandez remains in custody without the possibility of bail and is scheduled to face trial on October 23.

What the video shows

It was a late Friday night in Tulsa when Martinez Hernandez found himself sitting at a bar, surrounded by the lively atmosphere. Suddenly, police officers and FBI agents approached him, their presence catching everyone’s attention.

Martinez Hernandez initially refuted his involvement in the crimes.

After a few moments, the police officers apprehended Martinez Hernandez and proceeded to place him in handcuffs. They then escorted him to the patrol car once they discovered his true identity.

A year has passed

According to court documents, Martinez Hernandez had been evading capture in Maryland while law enforcement agencies conducted a widespread search for him.

“Grateful they didn’t give up”

According to law enforcement officers, Martinez Hernandez crossed the United States border illegally following an arrest warrant issued for a murder in his home country of El Salvador.

According to the police, DNA evidence from the crime scene of Morin’s assault in Los Angeles matched the DNA found at a home invasion involving a child.

Martinez Hernandez was identified as the prime suspect in the Los Angeles home invasion based on DNA testing and surveillance video footage of him breaking in.

In an exclusive interview with WJZ, Morin’s mother expressed her gratitude towards the police for their unwavering dedication in the search for Martinez Hernandez, days after his arrest.

Patty Morin expressed her immense gratitude that they didn’t give up on her. She was relieved that she wasn’t just another piece of paper on a desk, as she had feared.
