COVID-19 cases in our listening area hit a total of 500 since the pandemic started
DES MOINES — 20 more cases of COVID-19 have been identified in our listening area, bringing the total number of lab-confirmed cases since the pandemic started to 500.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health’s coronavirus website, in the 24-hour time period ending at 11 o’clock this morning, Wright County saw seven more cases; Franklin five; three in Hancock; two in Cerro Gordo; and single cases in Butler, Kossuth and Mitchell counties.
Looking at the county-by-county totals since the start of the pandemic — 292 cases have been confirmed in Wright; 49 in Franklin; 44 in Cerro Gordo; 30 in Hancock; 23 in Butler; 20 in Floyd; 18 in Kossuth; 12 in Winnebago; eight in Mitchell; and four in Worth.
Four more people in our area have recovered, all from Wright County, for a total of 215.
Looking statewide, 167 more cases have been reported for a total of 23,879. Two more people have died for a total of 653. 80 more have recovered for a total of 14,461.
