Brother and sister firefighters in Oregon have been fighting wildfires tirelessly, and a group of firefighters from Connecticut has decided to offer their assistance. These skilled firefighters are eager to help and lend a helping hand to their fellow firefighters in Oregon.

On Tuesday, the Connecticut Interstate Fire Crew (CIFC), consisting of 19 members, departed from DEEP’s Eastern District headquarters in Marlborough. The crew was organized by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

According to Commissioner Katie Dykes, the Connecticut Interstate Fire Crew has once again stepped up to provide assistance to those in need in other states.

Six full-time employees from various divisions, including the Bureau of Natural Resources and the Bureau of Central Services, make up the group. They are all employed by DEEP.

A group of firefighters have gathered from 16 different towns located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
