Ballot set for Mason City, Clear Lake city council elections

MASON CITY — The fields are set for this November’s city elections in Mason City and Clear Lake as the filing deadline was yesterday afternoon:

 

— In Mason City, there will be two contested City Council races. 

 

== In the race to fill the at-large council seat left vacant with the death of Tom Thoma, former county supervisor Tim Latham is being challenged by Leon Robertson and Kevin Easley

 

== In the Third Ward race, incumbent Joshua Masson will face Ryan Schupick

 

== At-Large councilman Paul Adams and First Ward councilman John Lee are running unopposed

 

== Correcting our story from earlier today — three people have filed for Mason City’s Park Board. Incumbents Jay Lala and Troy Levenhagen are joined on the ballot by Scot Wilson

 

 

 

 

—- There’s one contested race in the Clear Lake City Council election:

 

== In the at-large seat on the ballot, former city finance director Creighton Schmidt will face Christopher Hogg. Current at-large councilman Mike Callanan decided not to run for re-election. 

 

== Incumbent First Ward councilman Mark Ebeling is running unopposed, while Beth Ann Schumacher is running unopposed for the Third Ward seat being vacated by Gary Hugi
