This Saturday marks the final farewell for the Southern University student who was tragically murdered after being lured to Mississippi. The funeral services will take place in Baker as friends, family, and loved ones gather to pay their last respects.

Steven Harris’ family has announced that his funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning in Bethany Church on Plank Road.

According to West Feliciana Parish Sheriff, Brian Spillman, evidence suggests that Harris was lured to Wilkinson County, Mississippi by a trio of suspects who eventually killed him. The body of Harris was found last month, days after he was reported missing. The suspects, Derek Terrell Hollins Jr., Calajia Jack, and Allyah Martin, all aged between 20 and 21, are currently facing murder charges in Mississippi.

Shortly before Martin’s disappearance, he and Harris had a custody hearing in West Feliciana Parish for their son. Currently, the child is in the custody of Harris’ family.
