Residents in the southwest Utah region, spanning from Kanab to Cedar City, ought to prepare themselves for scattered showers and thunderstorms that are set to occur this evening. The weather conditions are expected to reach their peak between 4 PM and 8 PM, with locally heavy rainfall and isolated flash flooding being a possibility. It is important to note that the storms are anticipated to be particularly intense.

The US National Weather Service Salt Lake City has forecasted that thunderstorms will start forming around 3 PM and become more widespread as the evening goes on. People living in the northeast, ranging from Kanab to Cedar City, should be prepared for dry thunderstorms that can generate dry lightning and forceful, gusty outflow winds.
