A Surrey man has had his Ferrari impounded for seven days.

A man from Surrey, aged 48, had his Ferrari confiscated for a week and has been fined $483 for driving at excessive speeds.

Langley RCMP reported on May 24 that they detected a red Ferrari speeding at 124 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, with a subsequent radar measurement of 123 km/h taken just 98 meters away.

Police stated that the Ferrari was speeding near Wagonwheel Crescent and 56th Avenue, an area designated for residential purposes.

It is entirely unacceptable to drive at such high speeds in neighborhoods where families reside and children play, mentioned Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP in an official statement.

We treat these infractions seriously and will persist in our enforcement actions to ensure the safety of our roads,

Throughout May, law enforcement agencies in British Columbia are concentrating on reducing dangerous driving practices.
