Law enforcement agencies in Maryland, in response to concerns over unlawful large-scale exhibition driving events, have charged multiple individuals. The Maryland Department of State Police collaborated with their partner agencies to take action against such events.

The Maryland Car Rally Task Force has been actively investigating and addressing exhibition driving events, also known as ‘takeovers’, since its establishment in June 2024.

Engaging in these unlawful acts includes obstructing public roads for hazardous stunts, disturbing the flow of traffic, causing harm to properties, and endangering the safety of the general public.

Throughout July, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force addressed and handled three distinct car rallies in various locations across Prince George’s County, including Laurel, Greenbelt, Beltsville, and Upper Marlboro.

The task force’s efforts in Prince George’s County have resulted in the charging of six individuals through a criminal summons or arrest warrant.

Six individuals have been identified as the accused in the case. These include Terrell Marshall, aged 22, hailing from Suitland; Alex Agustin, aged 22, from Laurel; Kyle Allen, aged 24, from Lanham; Jarard Walters, aged 21, from Essex; Malik Coleman, aged 24, from Baltimore; and London Flores, aged 19, from Silver Spring.

The individuals have been charged in relation to illegal exhibition driving events that occurred in Prince George’s County.

Law enforcement officials are conducting more patrols in areas that have been identified as hotspots. In addition, they are undertaking thorough investigations to uncover and prosecute those responsible.

To tackle the issue at hand, authorities are taking a proactive approach which involves stepping up traffic enforcement and launching criminal investigations against those responsible.
