Officials in New York have released the identity of the victim involved in a tragic plane crash in East Aurora on Thursday, Dec. 19. The individual has been identified as Paul S. Marsh from Lansing, Michigan.

According to authorities, Marsh left Lansing on Thursday and was heading to White Plains, New York, to visit family in the area when the plane crashed.

According to a report by News 10, Buffalo Niagara Airport issued an alert at 11:16 a.m. on Thursday regarding an aircraft experiencing mechanical problems. Just six minutes later, officials received a 911 call notifying them that the aircraft had crashed.

First responders arrived at the scene to find the aircraft completely consumed by fire, mere feet away from the residence of Dion Dawkins, a professional football player for the Bills.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
