Two Pedestrians Hit and Thrown 40 Feet in Hays Collision

Two Pedestrians Injured in Hays After Being Struck by Vehicle

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Hays Police Department reported that two pedestrians were injured after being hit by a vehicle late Saturday night. The incident occurred around 11:55 p.m. at the intersection of 13th Street and Elm Street.

According to authorities, the pedestrians were struck by an eastbound vehicle on 13th Street and were thrown approximately 40 feet from the point of impact. Both individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police stated that the pedestrians were in the crosswalk at the time of the incident and had the right of way. The driver of the vehicle was cited for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. Alcohol was not considered a factor in the accident.
