32-Year-Old Arrested Following Domestic Dispute in Calhoun County

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Pike County man following a domestic disturbance in late November.

On November 28, the Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a domestic incident at a residence located on Illinois Route 96, north of Mozier. A deputy responded to the scene to investigate the situation.

Following the investigation, 32-year-old Zachary N. Schwalb, from Baylis, was arrested on charges of Class 4 felony Domestic Battery.

Schwalb was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Pike County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial detention hearing tomorrow. Calhoun County State’s Attorney Lucas Fanning has filed a motion to deny Schwalb pretrial release.
