Tupelo Man Arrested on Fentanyl Distribution Charges

Tupelo, Miss. (WCBI) — An investigation by narcotics agents and police officers in Tupelo led to the arrest of a man after a significant drug bust.

Agents from the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, along with the Tupelo Special Operations team, were monitoring a residence on Magazine Street due to suspicions of drug activity. During their surveillance, they stopped a vehicle leaving the location for further investigation.

A search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of fentanyl. As a result, the driver, identified as Frederick Ellis, was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute.

Ellis’s bond was set at $40,000.
