Preliminary hearing later this week for Minnesota woman accused of being in high speed chase that ended in Cerro Gordo County

MASON CITY — The preliminary hearing is set for later this week for a Minnesota woman arrested after a high-speed chase that ended in Cerro Gordo County last week.

44-year-old Ceromani McMillon of Lakeville Minnesota is accused of driving a vehicle that was suspected to be involved in a hit-and-run. She was reported driving south out of Minnesota on Interstate 35, with the Iowa State Patrol locating her vehicle and starting a pursuit that reached speeds of 110 miles per hour.

Court documents say McMillon ran over four sets of stop sticks and was left driving on three rims and only one tire. One officer was injured during the deployment of the stop sticks.

The State Patrol says McMillon’s vehicle finally came to a stop after being struck three times by patrol vehicles. They say she was removed from the vehicle at gunpoint and appeared lethargic and disoriented.

McMillon was charged with felony eluding resulting in injury while under the influence, a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison if convicted.

McMillon remains in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $5000 bond.
