Woman Arrested After High-Speed Chase Through Lowndes County

A high-speed pursuit through Lowndes County, Mississippi, ended in the arrest of a 42-year-old woman on Wednesday afternoon, December 11, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Mary Jones, refused to stop, prompting a lengthy chase across the county. During the pursuit, Jones allegedly caused significant property damage.

The chase concluded on Highway 45 South, where law enforcement successfully apprehended her. Investigators later determined that the vehicle involved had been reported stolen from Columbus.

Jones is now facing multiple charges, including felony fleeing, possession of stolen property, and several traffic violations. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
