Minnesota woman involved in three-county chase through north-central Iowa headed to prison

MASON CITY — Two Minnesota women have been sentenced to prison time after a high-speed chase earlier this year through three north-central Iowa counties.

32-year-old Heather Krumrie of St. Paul and 34-year-old Marion Baca of Hinkley were spotted by law enforcement in a vehicle speeding on US Highway 218 near Plainfield, with a chase ensuing that continued through Floyd and Cerro Gordo counties with speeds at over 150 miles per hour. The vehicle was finally stopped after stop sticks were deployed near Mason City on US Highway 18. Investigators said both defendants were throwing objects out of the window during the pursuit.

Krumrie pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine and failure to use a drug tax stamp and was sentenced to ten years in prison. Baca has pleaded guilty to eluding and she’s been given a five-year prison term.
