MASON CITY — A Mason City woman has been charged with mailing drugs to an inmate.

According to a criminal complaint, 35-year-old Erin Hanson mailed the drug Suboxone, a schedule three prescription pain reliever, to an inmate at the Cerro Gordo County Jail. The criminal complaint was filed on February 4th, with a nationwide warrant for her arrest being issued two days later.

Hanson was served the warrant on Thursday at the jail, where she is also serving a sentence for fourth-degree theft. Hanson pleaded guilty to that charge after being accused of switching price tags on several items while shopping at Target on September 23rd of last year.

Hanson is being held without bond in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
