Mason City finalist for All-America City Award

MASON CITY — The City of Mason City later this morning makes its presentation for the All-America City Award. Mason City was among 10 cities chosen out of a final group of 20 for the award presented by the National Civic League.

Mason City’s city administrator Aaron Burnett says the award recognizes communities that leverage civic engagement, collaboration, inclusiveness and innovation to successfully address local issues. “The application for this award focused on the River City Renaissance, 5210 Healthy Mason City Initiatives, and the volunteer efforts that make Mason City sparkle. This award would complement several other recent recognitions for community efforts to move forward with revitalization. These include the “Game Changer Award” from Main Street Iowa and the “Iowa Great Places” designation.”

Mason City will make their presentation at about 10 o’clock this morning. You can watch it by clicking on this link. The winner will be announced later this evening.
