Kansas City Police Probe Deadly Shooting on Thursday Evening

Authorities are investigating a new homicide in Kansas City following a shooting that occurred on Thursday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m., police were called to the scene in the 8700 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.

When officers arrived, they began searching the area for a victim after receiving reports from several witnesses. They found an adult male near a vehicle who appeared to have sustained gunshot injuries.

The victim was unresponsive and showed clear signs of trauma from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) quickly arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

At this time, law enforcement has not identified a suspect or made any arrests. Homicide detectives, along with crime scene investigators, are gathering evidence and conducting witness interviews as they attempt to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released as the investigation continues.
