A man, aged 48, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident in south Wichita on Wednesday. Authorities in Wichita are currently on the lookout for the driver responsible for this fatal accident.

Just before 6 p.m., a tragic incident occurred at Mount Vernon, just west of Washington. Christian Zelenka, a resident of Wichita, was struck by a silver sedan that callously fled the scene. Sadly, Zelenka lost his life in the accident.

According to Lt. Lee Eisenbise, witnesses have reported that the vehicle, which had rust on the passenger side, fled in a westbound direction on Mount Vernon and has not been found yet.

Wichita police provided no new updates on Thursday morning, except for the identification of the victim.

If you have any information, please contact 911 immediately. For those who prefer to remain anonymous, you can reach out to Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
