Fire destroys rural Clear Lake home

CLEAR LAKE — A rural Clear Lake home is a total loss after a fire on Saturday night.

The Clear Lake Fire Department says they were dispatched at about 10:22 PM to 10089 230th Street, where on arrival found a house was completely involved in fire and was threatening an adjacent house on the same property. Firefighters made an effort to protect the adjacent house.

Both homes on the property, which is owned by Raymond Hayes, were vacant at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The damage to the property is estimated at $80,000.

Fire departments from Ventura and Swaledale assisted in battling the fire.
