WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – Brace yourselves, KAKEland residents, as our first winter storm of the season is on its way. Weather forecasts indicate that we can expect significant snowfall and potentially hazardous conditions this weekend. It’s time to prepare for the winter weather and ensure our safety.

The weather forecast for this weekend includes a chance of rain, ice, and snow starting late Saturday and continuing into Sunday. While it is still too early to determine the exact amounts or impacts of snow and ice, more information will be available in the upcoming days.

Cooler air will filter in behind that system, bringing highs in the 20s/30s on Monday. Overnight lows will drop down into the teens and single digits, leading to dangerously low wind chill values to start the workweek.
