Two men apprehended by Sheriff’s Office after being pulled over during traffic stop

Two individuals were taken into custody after law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on Highway 80 on Saturday night.

Two people from Texas, namely David Villegas, aged 30, and Buitrago Bermudez, aged 21, were apprehended.

Deputy Tyler Pearson pulled over a vehicle on Highway 80 that was swerving and driving at inconsistent speeds while heading eastbound.

During the stop, the sheriff’s office discovered that the driver, Bermudez, did not possess a valid license and also found several open alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities uncovered what appeared to be cocaine. As a result, Villegas faced charges of public intoxication and possession of cocaine.

Both men were held in the Russell County Detention Center.
