Three-Day Shawnee Police Operation Tackles Retail Theft, Drug Crimes, and More

SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – The Shawnee Police Department conducted a three-day operation last week aimed at addressing retail theft in high-traffic shopping areas near W. 65th Street and Maurer Road.

According to a post on the Shawnee KS Police Department’s X account, the operation resulted in several arrests and recoveries. The outcomes included:

  • Nine theft arrests
  • Two firearms recovered from felons
  • Two auto burglary arrests
  • Two felony drug arrests
  • One stolen vehicle recovered
  • One arrest for aggravated assault on law enforcement officers

During the operation, one suspect attempted to flee from police by ramming a police vehicle. The full details of the operation were shared in the department’s post.
