The National Search For A Man Wanted For Murder Has Ended In South Carolina

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said that Nicholas Hamlett, who is wanted for murder in Tennessee, had been apprehended in South Carolina.

The last reported sighting of Hamlett occurred on Halloween night in Chapin, South Carolina.

Monroe County officials announced Hamlett’s capture in Columbia, South Carolina, on Sunday afternoon, November 10.

A hospital employee in Columbia recognized Hamlett, according to the Columbia Police Department. The employee promptly notified police, and officers responded.

The United States Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Task Force is holding Hamlett in temporary detention after a fingerprint scanner confirmed his identity. Authorities stated they had made arrangements with Tennessee authorities for Hamlett’s extradition to Monroe County.

Additional details of Hamlett’s arrest will be released soon.
