Snowfall Expected in Central Missouri Wednesday, Minor Accumulations Likely

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for several counties in north central and west central Missouri, including Cooper, Howard, Pettis, Randolph, and Saline counties.

Light snow is expected tonight north of Interstate 70, with accumulation likely to remain under one inch. These minor snow accumulations may create slick travel conditions early Wednesday morning. Strong north and northwest winds will also bring wind chills in the teens across the region.

In mid-Missouri, snow is expected to begin before sunrise on Wednesday and taper off by early afternoon. While most areas will see light flurries, isolated snow showers with brief heavy snow and reduced visibility are possible.

The snow band will stretch from Sedalia to just north of Rolla, moving northeast. Accumulations of a dusting to ½ inch are expected on grassy and elevated surfaces.

Looking ahead to Friday, drizzle and freezing drizzle could develop across the region, transitioning to rain as temperatures rise above freezing.
