Shoplifting Leads to Third-Degree Burglary Charge for Fredonia Woman

Fredonia Woman Arrested on Burglary and Larceny Charges After Shoplifting Incident

ELLICOTT, NY (WNY News Now) – A Fredonia woman has been charged with burglary and petit larceny following a shoplifting incident that escalated due to her previous ban from the store.

On December 9th, the Town of Ellicott Police Department responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a local store. Authorities identified the suspect as 39-year-old Jennifer L. Fain, who was allegedly caught taking items without paying.

During the investigation, officers learned that Fain had been previously banned from the store, leading to the additional charge of third-degree burglary under New York law.

Fain was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to address the charges. As with all individuals accused of a crime, Fain is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
