Rider Dies After Motorcycle Overturns in Driveway Accident

Motorcycle Accident Claims One Life in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO — A fatal motorcycle accident occurred Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, resulting in the death of one individual.

According to Officer Alayna Gonzalez of the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), the incident took place just after 2:30 p.m. near the 500 block of NW Barry Road.

A Harley Davidson Tri Glide motorcycle, traveling eastbound, entered a private driveway at excessive speed and a sharp angle. The vehicle overturned, trapping the operator beneath it and causing critical injuries.

Emergency medical services transported the injured motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead by medical staff.

This marks the 94th traffic-related fatality in Kansas City this year, compared to 101 at the same point in 2023, Gonzalez noted. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
