A tragic incident unfolded in Langley Park on Saturday, Aug. 10, claiming the life of a beloved teenager known as “Fatboy.” Hailing from Sandy Spring, Maryland, this young individual became the latest victim of a senseless act of gun violence.

On the night of the shooting, police responded to reports of gunshots in the 1900 block of Lebanon Street. However, upon arrival, no victim was discovered at the scene.

Segura, 16, was later found at the hospital. He had been dropped off and was suffering from a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, he passed away from his injuries.

Loved ones are currently grappling with the overwhelming grief and heartbreak caused by this tragic and devastating incident. The teenager, who was about to begin his third year at Springbrook High School, had a bright future ahead of him.

“As a parent and loved one of Fatboy, I kindly request for prayers to support his family during these difficult times,” expressed Rosy Orbegoso. “Fatboy possessed an extraordinary personality, and his infectious smile had the power to warm anyone’s heart.”

He had a strong sense of independence and a relentless drive to become someone significant.

Days have passed since the tragic shooting, but the authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects. Meanwhile, Segura’s family is still coming to terms with the harsh realities that they now face.

“He also had an immense amount of gratitude and a kind-hearted nature. His presence left a significant impact on everyone he encountered,” Orbegoso expressed. “Fatboy, we will deeply miss you.”

You can find a GoFundMe page that has been set up for Segura’s family here.
