Pedestrian was tragically hit by a tractor trailer in St. Peters

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A Winfield man lost his life early Monday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer in St. Peters.

The accident occurred just before 3 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 70, west of Mid Rivers Mall Drive.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the tractor-trailer driver was traveling eastbound in the second lane of I-70 when he noticed a man walking in the same lane. The driver tried to swerve left to avoid the man but unfortunately still hit him.

The victim, 23-year-old Conner R. Lipp, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed for an extended time Monday morning as crews worked to investigate and clear the area.
