One Dead, One Injured in Early Morning Independence Shooting

A fatal shooting early Thursday morning left one man dead and another injured in Independence. According to the Independence Police Department, officers responded to a shooting report in the 19100 block of East 37th Terrace South around 2:45 a.m.

Upon arrival at the Independence Ridge Apartments, authorities discovered a deceased man inside an apartment. Meanwhile, a nearby hospital notified the police about a man who had been admitted with a gunshot wound. Investigators later confirmed that this man was also involved in the deadly incident at the apartment complex.

The Independence Police Department is urging anyone with information to reach out at (816) 325-7300 or to contact the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS (8477).
