According to the police department, authorities are currently conducting a manhunt for an inmate who managed to escape from police custody at the UTMB Victory Lakes in League City in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Desmond Taylor, a 37-year-old man, found himself in the custody of the League City Police Department following his arrest on Friday. The charge against him was assault family violence with previous convictions.

Taylor was taken to Victory Lakes for a medical evaluation after being booked into the League City Jail and expressing a medical concern.

On Sunday, around 1:02 a.m., Taylor managed to escape from a hospital room. The authorities of League City have stated that the details surrounding his escape are still unclear.

According to officials, they discovered his hospital-issued gown outside the building.

LCPD officers wasted no time and swiftly initiated a thorough search of the vicinity with the support of various agencies.

According to the police, Taylor is described as a Black man with short hair. He stands at 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds. At the time he was last seen, he was only wearing socks and underwear.

Anyone with information on Taylor’s location should promptly contact the League City Police Department at 281-332-2566 or reach out to their local law enforcement agency.
