Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Van in Kansas City

One Dead in Motorcycle Collision on Broadway Boulevard in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A fatal accident on Saturday evening left one person dead in Kansas City. The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. on Broadway Boulevard.

According to Kansas City Police Department Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a red Yamaha R1 motorcycle was traveling southbound on Broadway Boulevard at a high rate of speed from 17th Street when it collided with a white GMC van. The van was in the process of pulling out of a parking lot near 18th Street at the time.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kansas City Fire Department. The driver of the GMC van sustained minor injuries. Police have not yet released the name of the deceased as the investigation continues.
