A federal court has sentenced Andrew Brent Steel, a former Detroit resident, to nine years in prison for drug trafficking. He will also have four years of supervised release. Steel, who is 33 years old, has been found guilty of the charges.
On July 18, 2024, Senior United States District Court Judge David S. Cercone sentenced Steel to the charges to which he pleaded guilty.
Multiple purchases of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine were made during the investigation that led to Steel’s arrest and conviction. Upon his arrest, Steel was found with the phone he used to coordinate these transactions.
