Fire Breaks Out at Mohegan Lake Apartments, Four Units Affected

A fire erupted in a vent at the Eagle Rock Apartments on New Chalet Drive in Mohegan Lake on Monday, causing damage to four apartment units.

The Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association responded to the scene and discovered the fire in the cockloft void space of one of the apartments. Firefighters from nearby Mahopac Falls and Putnam Valley departments assisted in extinguishing the flames.

One apartment unit sustained significant damage, with the ceiling torn off and the area severely scorched. The other three units experienced only minimal damage.

The Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association has yet to determine the cause of the fire and has not reported any injuries.
