A man in Jefferson County, Missouri, has been charged with the murder of his son on Christmas Eve.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced in a news release that they have pressed charges against 61-year-old Harold E. Luster of High Ridge. Luster is facing first-degree murder and armed criminal action charges in connection with the death of his son, 26-year-old Kevin M. Ward from St. Louis.

Luster is currently being held in Jefferson County jail with no chance of being released on bond.

A news release states that an altercation took place on the evening of December 24 at a residence located in the 6400 block of Highway PP. Allegedly, Luster retrieved a firearm and proceeded to threaten another individual before ultimately shooting his own son.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to deputies. Unfortunately, there is no information available at this time regarding any court appearances.
